Girls’ Lacrosse (Rising 6-9th Grades), July 29-August 1

Course open to Branson and non-Branson students.

9:30-12:30, M-F

Coaches: Mason Day, Heather Duncan, Gillian Kneass, Ellie Skewes-Cox

Come join us for an opportunity  to learn the game of women's lacrosse. No experience necessary, but a great way to get introduced to the game and work with experienced Branson coaches and current Branson women's lacrosse players. We will provide sticks (if needed) and protective eye-guards. You only need to come with a mouth guard and an enthusiasm to learn the sport!

We will cover basic stick work, skills, and build to an understanding of the full field game, rules, and strategies involved for the various positions.

Coach Bios:

Gillian Kneass is a Bay Area native, having grown up in Ross, CA.  She has been playing and coaching lacrosse for over 25 years.  Her lacrosse career started her senior year in high school when she became a member of the first ever high school team in the state of California.  She played for four years as a starter in the varsity program at Kenyon College where she received All-Conference honors and was named team captain her senior year.  Since graduating from Kenyon, Gillian has been coaching lacrosse at the high school and college level at many schools on the east coast and at camps on both coasts during the summers. Before heading east Gillian was the head coach at a high school in California where she was also a part of the coaching staff for the California National High School team at the 1997 and 1998 National tournaments.  She has played for many club and select teams, including the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and California National Tournament teams and has had the opportunity to play against the Australian and Canadian World Cup teams.  As well as coaching lacrosse, Gillian is also a math teacher at The Branson School.

Heather Duncan played throughout high school and was a varsity starter her freshman year at Swarthmore College and played for three years there, which included making it to the Nationals. She started the first ever high school team in the state of California (coaching Gillian!) and coached high school for several years after that. After taking a break from coaching she has been the Assistant Coach at Branson for the past two years.
