Contemporary Dance for All Levels Session I

Course Description:  What you can expect: 20 minutes of somatic easy feel-good warm-up mostly on the floor. 20 minutes of movement that is guided by prompts. And 20 minutes of easy contemporary choreography that’s just plain fun! Class anchors include pilates, yoga, improvisation, adaptable choreography, verbal reflection, and dancing in community! No experience necessary, this class will be adaptable for beginning through advanced movers. Come get your dance on! 

Instructor Bio: Christine began teaching at Branson in 2025 after serving as Department Chair and Professor at Sonoma State University (2010-15'), where she is now an Emeritus Professor. At Branson, she teaches dance and acting improvisation, serves as a student mentor, club advisor, coach for track & field, and is a committee member for a variety of groups on campus. Christine also directs the professional dance-theater company, CALI & CO dance and teaches Contemporary Dance at Dance Mission Theater in San Francisco. An MFA graduate of Hollins University/American Dance Festival, and BFA from Ohio University, Christine has taught around the world, including two years as a visiting Professor at Sung Kyun Kwan University in Seoul, South Korea. She is excited to offer this multidisciplinary summer session!
